I'm sure this has been asked and answered before, but my search fu is failing me today. How reliable is using 9mm in 40 S&W Glock mags? Am I better off buying mags to go with the new barrel?

of course you're better off buying new mags to go with the new barrel. I've heard you can use .40 mags, but Would I bet my life on it? Nope.Comment

Loading 9MM rounds in a .40 Glock magazine results in the rounds popping through the feed lips under the pressure of the follower spring. You'll need 9MM magazines.I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!Comment

So basically what I have heard people say about using 40 mags in a 9 to get an extra round or two out of 10 round mags is coming out of the south end of a north bound bovine. That's kind of what I figured. I can put 9's in the mag but I have no way to function test it. I have seen the result of 40's in a USP45 mag, it was kind of humorous to watch the round fall out of the barrel when he switched mags on the line.Comment

From what I understand, the mecgar anti friction mags in .40 and 9mm are the exact same, minus the witness marks.Comment
