Turner's Has Ruger SR45's

Well I went to the Turner's in Torrance today to reserve a Ruger SR45 and while I was completing the paperwork the salesman checked the warehouse and their shipment arrived and was ready for sale. So I got to DROS mine and will get it on the 11th. He could not give me an exact number of how many they had left, but said it was a fairly substantial amount. A couple of other guys were there for them as well, so no telling how long they will last.

I am pretty stoked right now. I was prepared to wait quite a while for these.

Stainless by Model number is the only one on DOJ approved list. So black is off roster, which sucks, because I don't want a friggin stainless one

I think you might be right.

From what I have seen the 2 guns(the stainless and the black) use the same stainless steel slide, the only diffence being the black ones get a nitride coating applied, so to keep product shipping out the door asap Ruger probably decided to pass on making black models for the moment to ship a bit faster.

I have tons of Ruger guns. I remember when Sig 226's had a cracked rail problem, not just one gun, but lots of them. I also remember when Beretta 92's had slide failures. And lets us not forget the infamous Glock KB's. I have not seen that with any Ruger product on the same scale.

To be fair, you haven't even contacted them about replacement or repair. I am curious to see what happens once you have let them know about your problem. My first handgun that I got when I was 14 was a Ruger Redhawk. I still have it thirty years later and it has fired 1000's of rounds with zero problems. I realize that these are two different types of guns, but Ruger generally errors on the strength side.

Sorry you got some bad metal, lets see what Ruger does about it. I hope they treat you right. Good luck and keep us updated.
