    Sigh...EDC hunt begins again

    So,
My husband ordered a G27 Friday and it will eventually be ours. Still, I need a EDC to use for my CCW class and would like it yesterday. The class is 4/21 and it's looking like I'll have to pass it up. I've been trying to get into a CCW class since December(yes, this is the 1st one offered since then) and looking for a weapon these last 4 months as well. Being in a super rural area makes this tough. Just frustrated. I did pick up my fun little Taurus 941 .22 mag along the way, but it's not a realistic EDC for me. I hate how much effort and time and $$ this whole process is taking up. Hoping things settle down sometime soon so those of us who are really legal gun owners can go about our business. I'm sure there are MANY of you out there who are also in a similar boat. Why is it that all these anti gun folks don't understand that more laws/hoops/bells/whistles and various tap dance routines do nothing to keep criminals from access? IF I wanted a stolen/no serial # gun I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to buy one from some guy's trunk in the dark of night. BOO!

Is it required in your county to take the class with your carry gun?

you know, I didn't ask this. I made the assumption that is a yes because the instructor said to bring each gun you want to quailfy with(you can list up to 3 on the CCW app) SO I assumed that you did. I might have to ask that! Thanks.

Don't know how hard it is to add a gun to your CCW in your county, but there has to be a way to do it. The first rule of a gunfight is to have a gun. If all you have now is the 941 then I'd take the class with that and add the G27 later. While it wouldn't be anyone's first choice for a CCW, a .22Mag revolver with the new Critical Defense load is a whole lot better than an empty holster.

Well after a stroll through the gun shop they actually had Kahr CW9...I bought it. I couldn't help myself. I know the Glock will end up as my carry gun(Unless I love this more than I think I will) I originally was going to buy a PM40, but didn't want to spend the nearly $800 it was going for. This was $525, MSRP is $485 and for such a rural area that's as good as the price will get in this market. Anyhow...I can get it out of jail the 11th and that gives me 10 days to break it in and hopefully be comfortable with it! Now to find some more 9mm ammo. Sigh I don't want to use what little we have right now.

            Kahr

The Kahr is a great little gun but it takes breaking in. After the first couple hundred rounds, it smooths out to a nice little gun. Just be aware that the gun has an unsupported chamber so be very careful with reloads. I had two blowouts with gun show reloads so only sticking to only factory loads for now. But I know people who have shot thousands of reloads through them without problems. I guess I was just lucky?

It's even easier than that, really.
