Shoot it first. Very possible it was adjusted that way.

          Elite Dark P226? If so...

          "P"226"P"229,

Viewing your photos, it looks like you have the P226 Elite Dark? If so, there is a good possibility that your sights were just quickly installed and not exactly zeroed from the factory. I have an ED too and my rear sight was not zeroed out of the box. And even more problematic, the rear sight worked loose during my first range visit and needed to be tightened down.

If your pistol was new, it should have come with a small Ziplock baggie with two hex wrenches in it - the smallest of them is the one that fits the hex nuts that allow adjustment / tightening. Look straight down at the top of the sight and it is the two tiny hex nuts at the rear of sight. Be careful to not over tighten these hex nuts, for fear of stripping the threads. Also, I recommend that you apply some LocTite Threadlocker Blue to keep them from backing out again. Otherwise, it is quite likely that they will work loose again (took me three consecutive loosening of the bolts, before I realized,... DUH!, I better LocTite these bad boys down for fear of them backing out completely and losing them altogether!)

Finally, I recommend that you use a rest of sorts to help you zero your sights. Again, they are adjustable... for both windage and elevation. You have a great pistol there... congrats!

all i can tell you is that for CZs, the sights are adjusted at the factory. they shoot a 5 shot group at 25 meters, then adjust POA to POI. Sig might have done the same thing.

CZ's usually include the test target with the gun, or used to at any rate.

SIG's do not, but test fire it first. My primary 226 has to have the rear sight way over to shoot straight.

doesn't it bother you that your rear sight has to be way off to shoot straight??

Not in the least. It shot way low too until I got a higher rear sight for it. Now it's right on the money without the frailness of adjustable sights.

Bought two 226 elites a couple years ago and on both, the front and rear sights were off to the right. find someone with a sight pusher
