    Rock Island 1911 .38 issues

My neighbor has a rock island 1911 in .38special. He said it has been having feeding issues. He replaced the magazines and the brand new ones still causes it. Im not a 1911 guy and this is the first ive heard of that wasnt .45 acp. We broke it apart and there are no signs of any noticeable wear. The mags seat all the way in, but it looks to me like the rounds are sitting slightly low for a smooth feed into the chamber.

Has anyone else the same kind of problem or can shed some light on this issue?

If he tried to run .38 special in his 1911 I think I can diagnose the cause of the feeding issue.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

I figured it was a super special round.

          You mean .38 super ...right?

Rock Island has very good customer service. Have your neighbor call them. They will put him on with a tech who may be able to talk him through a fix. If not they will pay all shipping, they send Fedex to his door to pick up the pistol. He may get a call from the gunsmith who will work on the gun. The turn around on my gun was about two weeks. If does not matter if your neighbor is the original owner.
