    Glock help: Gen4 G34 Slide on Gen4 G17

    Just wondering...

I got my hands on a complete slide from a Gen4 G34, can I just throw this on a Gen3 G17 without any upgrades of parts?

    Thanks,

No. The Gen4 slide has a much larger retaining ring for the forward part of the new dual recoil spring.

As Drab81 pointed out, the dust cover isn't large enough on the GEN3 G35 ro accept the GEN4 G35 slide.

The spacer allows the GEN 3 RSA to be installed into a GEN 4 slide, but I don't think the GEN 4 slide will fit on a GEN 3 frame. The GEN 4 RSA retaining ring (front of slide) is much larger overall, and I'm not sure it will fit inside the dust cover of a GEN 3 frame.

You're right. I missed that. Thanks for the reminder.
