i just bought 38 Special ammo...

...And I don't even own a gun that can shoot it! Ive norrowed my revolver search to the GP100 or 686 w/6" barrel. Turners has them on the spring ad but after talking to a salesman today it doesn't sound like they will have them. I figure if I don't get the gun I could always find a buyer. It was only $20 for 50 rounds anyway.

That reminds me of a friend of mine who bought a Borla exhaust system for his truck before he even bought the truck.

That's funny because I did the same.

      I bought a 30-rd Glock magazine back in 1999 before I bought a Glock in 2011.

ehhh, not so strange! I bought 500 rounds of .22 mag before I bought the revolver that shot them! Glad I did too, because, ouch, they are spendy if and when you can find them now!

Actually buying the ammo if you find it before the gun is not a bad strategy in this panic buying atmosphere were experiencing. Firearms are selling but many buyers can't find ammo for their purchases.

Yeah, what good is the gun without the ammo? I know many who bought AR15's during this craze and still do not have ammo. I have seen some by the gun without magazines or I have seen some buy stripped lowers and can't find all the other parts without paying a fortune. I will say that IMO the 686 is the bomb and you wouldn't regret holding out for one. Perhaps you could find a nicely used one? I waited a couple of years for the right deal to show up. Of course I usually buy used and save money that way.

where did you find the 38 special ammo? I just put a deposit on a 686 from Turner's and looking for ammo.

^Turners in Norwalk. It was their last box. I have seen a lot at Martin B Redding.

I'm doing the same thing with .380 for the Sig P232 I'll be buying myself as a personal gift for getting my degree.

The Ruger GP100 seems like a nice revolver.

I saw a guy recently firing one at a steel target function.

6" stainless steel revolver. He shot fast and accurate.

Its probably a platform that can be enhanced later to your likes.
