    Lasermax guide rod laser

Anyone tried these things? Thinking about one for my G17 to help with longer range targets. It's not so much my own inaccuracy, I just can't see that damn far anymore. My only hesitation is that it's $300 and a lot of the reviews on amazon bash the quality, but that seems par for the course for anything (i.e. overly vocal complainers making it seem like every item is a POS).

Waste of money. I had it on my G19 and could barely see the pulsing red dot at 15 yards. They have a preset zero. Can't adjust it.

        Wow, they are $300 now.
Have one on on my xd-sc. Yes, works as advertised, no adjustment needed. Yes, the plastic backing feels cheap, but it has held up. Laser does pulsate (no options for a constant beam) and bright but the laser dot is not as sharp as my TLR4...it's the rod guide and powder/oil has seeped into the the glass inside maybe...but works.

Do I recommend it, sure...but at $300, there are better value out there:
You will have a weapon light as well?...just go with a rail laser/light combo.
Even a grip laser is a good option.

Only if you want this specifically for a carry gun (holstered, less bulk) go for it.

But really, there are much better options.
