    issue with Sig 226

just picked up a German Sig P226 and took it to the range to try it out. Odd thing happened, with the reloads the range sold the slide would not lock back after the last round. When I used my factory rounds it would lock back 80% of the time. What would cause an issue like this?

Where is your thumb? Sig's slide catch/ release is right where I usually have my thumbs.

Magazine perhaps? Possibly reloads are sticking a bit in chamber and slide isn't fully sliding back. Enough to grab a round bu not enough the lock back? Were bullet weights the same? Recoil spring tight ?

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

You didn't state new or used on your Sig... if it's used and you're using the mags that it came with, the spring is probably worn. Replace with some Wolff +power. Most slide-lock issue in Sigs are mag or thumb (stated above) related.

I also had that problem recently with a new 226 using some aged reloads. Factory loads work fine. It clearly doesn't like crap ammo. The 220 will eat anything though. Go figure

Got it used, 9mm. I was using new 10 round mec-gar mags. I think it might have been the range reloads but it could also be operator error. It was originally purchased outside of Ca so it came with two 15 round Sig mags. Did not use the 15 rounders this time so I don't know if they are also an issue.

This is what I was thinking I had the same issue with my sig
I also have the same issue with my glock 27
I ended up selling the sig and now I am working on practicing changing my grip on the 27
That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.

^^^^What they said^^^^ Im used to shooting 1911's and my thumb always rides on the safety and tend to do that to the slide stop with my sigs. If its not the thumb may be mag/follower issue?

OK, so if it's a thumb issue where do you put your thumb and keep a secure comfortable grip?

the 226 came with a Short Reset Trigger, DPM Recoil Reduction System, and E2 Grip system. Don't know if that will affect the slide lock?

I put my strong hand thumb on top of the base of my support hand thumb
