    Cheap 686 consignment find

$359 with crimson trace laser grips.

it's a 686 (no dash) no lock/no mim model with a square butt frame. Was kind of wondering when it was made (1985 to 1989 maybe?). I pretty much got it so I could possibly use the grips on my k-frame. maybe I'll sell the gun or maybe I won't depending on how it shoots.

Not a rare model, but there are some good deals to be had on distress sales these days.

Mike100, Want to trade your 6 shooter for a 7 shooter? You can keep the grips. What do you say Boss?

Come on, where'd ya find it? Is there some secret treasure trove of under-priced consignment guns you are sitting on?

He's probably not coming back to his PC, he's waiting for the credit union to open for a loan.

Haha.. yeah I got distracted. I went to shoot it so I could try out the laser and a couple of reloads I had made earlier. It's as accurate as you'd expect it to be too. I would have come back sooner, but I accidentally bought a car on the way home from the range. I never did tell them I had a 357 in my truck, but I did ask them to pop the trunk for me as soon as we traded key sets.

To answer the other questions: I already have a 686-6 7-shooter and the place I found it was the San Marcos Turners. I think I caught the employees between paychecks and it probably only sat there for two or three hours. The first thing I asked was "What was wrong with it?" I'm not yet sure if I'll trade, sell, or keep.

btw, where do you get such a small allen key to adjust the windage on the beam?

I have that allen wrench, trade ya for your latest 686? Excellent score!
You're too far away to trade anyway. I was gonna offer a Colt 380 for trade. Do you have a S&W 66 w a 2.5" barrel with the fancy finger groved wood grips? How about a S&W 19-4 6" barrel? A 2nd gen Glock 21? An 8 year old boy that giggles all the time? Let me know.

$359.00? I think they screwed you on the grips to the tune of about $100.00. Nice of them to throw the gun in for free.
