    New XD45

Just purchased my first semi auto handgun, XD 45 4'' with optional sights as the only non stock option. Any feed back on how this gun performs and its reliablity/accuracy ?

Only shot friends semi's and I always have owned wheel guns.

    Thanks for any input.

same as you, xd45 service 4". 1.5K rounds, not a single hiccup, using factory rounds and serge reloads, both round noses and hollowpoints. an excellent shooter, not as good as my 1911's, but good enough to earn nightstand duties. combination of value, reliability and shooting comfort (love the grip) make it a winner for me. slap on a streamlight tlr-3/4 and you are more than good to go.

^+1 as well, really like my 45c and added a tlr4 on as well, and no issues to date.

Just no SWC bullets, and you will be fine.
I hear they tweak the magazine, and they just will not drop free anymore but still works.

5,500 rounds through mine with no malfunctions whatsoever. I've used sd/hd rounds, reloads, factory loads, 230grn, 185 grn and have had not one issue...not one. I replaced the recoil spring at 5k just for the hell of it.

I love my gun and XD's in general, their quality and reliability made me purchase an xdm 9 and I'm well on my way to the same marks as the xd45.

All in all you made a great choice

I only have about 500 rounds through mine but I like it. There is quite a bit of take up and reset but this being your first semi auto, I'd shoot yours as is for a while and see if you like it. I was used to Glocks before I got this so I put a trigger kit on mine to make it similar.
