Another eventless open carry story

I went to the Cruisin Grand event tonight with my lovely girlfriend and on the way we picked up a pizza at Filippis (sp?). I carried my Tracker the entire time and not one person said a word, no "cops" said anything, etc. It was great.

I highly reccomend the pizza.

Here is a picture of my rig. I have been meaning to post it for a while and Amanda (the g/f) did the honors for me. It is a Simply Rugged Pancake holster. My two speedloaders are in the left pocket. The papers in the back pocket are the California Open Carry flier and the knife in the pocket is Amanda's CRKT Hissatsu folder. (We swapped knives for the night)

that is cool! I have had the guts to go on plane travel with one of my guns (will post that story tonight maybe) Now perhaps I will try out an open carry. Should raise some eyebrows around town but I hope I get such a positive response as you. Postive being just left alone.

Plane travel is a breeze with a firearm, I have done it multiple times. My favorite though is when they do an explosives test on my archery equipment.

I dont get it. I thought it was illlegal to carry a weapon like that expecially in California. I would expect a club beat down by the cops at the least.

That right there is one of the reasons some of us open carry. To dispell the impression that it is illegal for a law abiding citizen to carry a weapon. It is perfectly legal to open carry an unloaded handgun in California, as long as you steer clear of the "forbidden zones", i.e. school zones, government buildings, post offices, etc.

There is a lot of good information on opencarry.org, such as the California Open Carry Pamphlet which explains in layman's terms (as much as possible) all the applicable laws relating to open carry in California.

This was Filippis in Escondido, CA. Cruisin' Grand is an event that happens every friday from I think April to September where people bring all their vintage cars out to display and cruise around. I don't normally go there since I usually work on Fridays but since school got canceled that day I switched shifts with friend so I could.
