    1977 Beretta Model 92

I have a 1977 Beretta Model 92 that has been passed down to me through my family. The date of manufacture was determined by checking the proof mark both online and with Beretta. Out of idle curiosity, does anyone have any idea how much the original Model 92 series are worth? I'm not interested in selling the gun, like I said I am just curious. I tried finding some previously or currently for sale online without success.

My other search relating to this pistol has met with similar results as the one above: I am looking for Beretta factory magazines from this time period (the magazine release is at the bottom of the magwell). Does anybody have any idea where I could look for them besides gun shows? I have checked some local stores that do a lot of used sales but have come across no magazines (most places don't even know what I'm talking about).

    Thanks for any help!

    Beats me. Doesn't 92 mean 1992?

I found a few magazines for you

I would take a look on gun auction sites in general, as I havent seen any sold at commercial websites.

As for the original 92 price, Im not certain. They are rather rare I would imagine.

I handled a similar early 92 at my LGS about a month ago. They were asking $700, so with taxes and DROS it was about $785 OTD. It sold within the week. There is another early 92 on Gunbroker in Napa that has been relisted a few times at $600 with no bids and is now down to $575.

Um. Since it was adopted by the US military in 1986, I'm going to go ahead and guess no.

Thanks for the tips, I want something manufactured from that time period if possible. The magazines I am looking for roughly look like this. I am looking for ones with just the steel floorplate as opposed to the ones with polymer/whatever at the bottom like the current 92 series magazines have.

It appears you are correct, Micro, that some of the current magazines (or at least more recent ones) do in fact have the cutout at the bottom. This may open up some options for me; even if they are not period specific at least I will have additional magazines. The original magazines did not have any cutouts for a round count other than a single hole almost to the bottom which allows you to see that the magazine has been loaded to that level.
