    9mm 1911's

What is your opinion on a good valued 9mm 1911?

My LGS suggested a Springfield EMP Compact (additionally as it's the only 9mm 1911 on the roster), but I'd like something more full sized.

    Any possibility for SSE?

    Thanks in advance!

Uhhhh springfield makes a full size 9mm 1911 that is on the roster. Me thinks your LGS wants to sell you an EMP.

Kimber and Springfield both make full size 9mm 1911's that are on the roster, if you prefer to go that route.

This is correct. And I saw one in Gun World (Burbank) selling for $1.1K I think. Firing Line in Burbank has one for rent, too.

I also owned a Kimber 9mm Target II 1911. Liked it a lot.

Depending on your needs, a Rock Island 9mm is still quite a bit less expensive even after the SSE costs. If you just want a "range toy," spending over $1000 on a BHP or 9mm 1911 doesn't make sense.

If you can find one, a CZ75 with the "cocked-&-locked" safety option is a pretty good SA 9mm; just ignore the DA function of the trigger.

              RIA, SA, Kimber.

My RIA 38 super/9mm conversion has been an awesome range gun. That being said, I might buy a SA 9mm 1911 if I had to do it again but I doubt it. 9mm 1911's are some of the best range toys available. NTM, females love them, even ones who are afraid of recoil because there is no recoil.

If you go the SSE route look into the Dan Wesson PM9, several STI models (Rangemaster 9mm, etc) or Les Baer.

If I was going to order another 9mm 1911 it would be the Warren Tactical SA Custom Shop model.

EMP is a very nice gun! Fun to shoot, and accurate. My friends all want one after shooting mine.

Why the six month wait. Is it because of low inventory or is six months the release date.

I have both EMP and SA 9mm 1911. Both are great although I have to admit the EMP is much more fun to shoot.

It's not on the roster, but the RIA Tactical 9mm I had was trouble free through 400 rounds. Finish isn't the greatest, but they're not purses or jewelry, they're tools.

Sold it and bought a CZ and will
Never look back. If you want a sweet single action 9mm, look into a CZ 75 shadow SA.
