    Glock 23 gen4

Bought it not expecting a whole lot. Shot it and was impressed. Anyone with similar experience?

I was not a big fan of Glocks for their looks when I first go into shooting and owning firearms. But when I was issued one (Glock 22) I found that they are very well made and just work.

Basically they're the iPod's of the handgun world. I picked up a Glock 23 Gen 4 and it's fun to shoot.

You should read the book titled "Glock" which is a great read about how Gaston Glock developed, marketed, and cornered the American handgun market and how they played a role in redefining gun culture and gun politics in the US.

Is the Gen 4 G23 that much better than the Gen 3? How so?

Mine too, it instantly became my favorite pistol. Perfect balance of size and firepower and I find the recoil very manageable. I have shot the gen 3 and I definitely prefer the gen 4 for the grip improvements.

I have been shooting my Gen 2 for 20+ years and it has performed flawlessly. I recently switched to a Springfield Sub, only because the additional back stap safety gave me more carry options.

I am also thinking about buying 4th gen Glock 34 or 35.

I have a 3rd gen g23. Runs without fail when shooting the intended caliber.

When I shoot 9mm through it I get the occasional FTE and sometimes the last round does not have enough oomph to lock it back but I really don't care as the 9mm is just for range duty out of this gun. It's the only time I get to practice clearing a malfunction.
