Para Warthog?

Spiffed up version of their 3" P10 - I have an older one (P10) bought last year or so for all of about $350.00. Was more accurate than I thought, shoots fine. I just wish they'd dump the plastic parts (trigger, mag release & main spring housing) for real metal. Trigger actuated firing pin block gives a lousy pull but can be made better. Has been reliable for me.GOA Member & SAF Life Member -
I had a 1998 stainless P10 (essentially same as Warthog).
I know 3" 1911s are a bit more touchy than longer bbl'd versions, but this was having extraction issues every 30-70 rounds. It also only liked 230gr FMJ RN ammo; 180gr TMJs were more problematic.
Rather than fix it I sold it to someone who wanted a "project".
They may have improved now.

I had one. it was a decent shooter and could do some surprisingly tight groups for its barrel length and sight radius. I actually had a buddy that shot the warthog better than a full size 1911.
I think 3" .45 1911's are less reliable by nature, and mine needed wolff extra power springs in the magazines to run right. I ended up selling it because it used to really dig into my palm when shooting it. My friend didn't have any comfort issues with it, but I couldn't own a gun that was unpleasant for me to shoot.
One thing that stood out to me about the Warthog is that it is very pleasing to the eye. On multiple occasions I was showing different handguns to newbs, and the Warthog was always the first one they would go for. There is something about the stout, compact look of the gun that makes it very attractive.
It is a well build, solid piece, but If I was shopping for a 3" gun right now, I would probably go with something in 9mm that was a slimmer, lower capacity single stack. Your mileage may vary.Comment

I have never shot one but.....
A guy was trying qualify with one next to me a few months ago when I was renewing my ccw and he had nothing but FTExtracts during every string of fire using WWB. Yes, he may have been limp wristing or it could have been the ammo or what ever, but after seeing him with his, there was no way I would trust my life with one.Comment

I have the 9mm version. Hawg 9. It's a good shooter and easy to look at. I had a small problem with the recoil spring when I first shot it (it jumped the center bulkhead on the rod). It was an easy fix and hasn't been an issue for the past several thousand rounds. A bit over priced compared to other 9mm, but I had to have it. I have the sickness.......
I've spent most of my money on guns, motorcycles and beer....... The rest I just wasted.Comment

Owned a Warthog and sold a Warthog. Junk. Never realiable.
Other compacts I LOVE my Kimber Ultra (3") and Compact (4") CDPII's.
A good friend owns a Ultra Carry II that has been great! I have shot it many times.
Another friend owns an Ultra Raptor II and is also a nice gun.Comment
