Starting DROS before 30 days is up?

So I bought a hangun Feb 18th (DROS date). Is it possible to buy another handgun (pay and fill out paperwork) but not have the DROS start until the 30 days is up? I have a ccw appointment coming up and I want to have the serial of the gun I'm going to buy so I can include that on my application when I hand it in.

Unless one handgun was effectively a PPT DROS (consignment sales are also considered PPT), I don't see it happening.

Some dealers will allow you to place a handgun on lay away with a deposit, then when the clock runs down you start the paper work

Depends on shop.. Every shop ive been to will not add a handgun on any DROS.. they tell me every hand gun has to be on its own..

I ended up putting it on layaway (paid in full) and will go back to start the DROS next week.

I don't know if it matters, but when I'll be putting in the application the gun will have already been DROS'd, just not picked up.

Depends on the dealer, probably not. I would just wait.

The 1-in-30 thing is dependent on the dates DROS is submitted; unless PPT, cannot submit any sooner than day 31 after the previous - DOJ will reject the sale.

You can buy the gun but you have to wait for the 30 days to DROS

So far as what I have read elsewhere on Calguns, it depends a little on the issuing agency. Some don't want to know what gun you plan to carry until they actually talk to you; some expect gun info with the initial app.

You might call your agency and ask - no doubt they'll be happy to tell you what they need.

With everything that is going on with the DOJ currently, what happens if you get delayed for several months?

How would you get delayed several months? I was just delayed for this 30 day thing, I made an error and was turned down by like 5 days. I just resubmitted my DROS.

Like others have said, you can buy...but cannot start DROS until the 30 days is up.
