It seems reasonable in CA, but keep in mind you're paying $1,500.00 for a pistol based on artificially limited availability.
I have a DW CBOB and a PM7, bought each of them new about about a week apart 5 or 6 years ago when they were still fairly common in CA. For "non-custom" 1911s I think they're about the best out there. Simple, solid and well made. I'm very happy with them both, especially the CBOB.
I paid $975.00 for each of mine and knowing they're tough to find, were I to sell them, (I'm not) I'd be happy as heck to get $1,300.00. You might try a bit of bargaining with him.GOA Member & SAF Life Member -
What year is it? If you are looking at a 2010 or newer, I'd be all over it. They have the forged frames and the FSC is cleaner.
I know a guy that just paid $1600 for a NIB '08 model. Sorry, but I believe that was just a tad over priced, considering a new one is $1675 and has a forged frame.
Bear in mind, with the DW factory fire last year, DW's are hard to find right now, so don't hesitate too long.
If it's any consolation, I paid $1100 for my used '09 Cbob a year and a half ago.
Get it while you can, you will not be disappointed!Comment

Cbob's, Vbob's and Guardian's are not COMPACT Models...they are Commander sized, 4.25".Originally posted by California44That's about right, new. If you are not wanting to wait, want very new condition, and are okay with not saving a buck or two, that seems like a good price. The CBOB is hard to come by in that I've not seen too many up for sale. It's a very nice compact pistol (I know, I have one and paid just under $1k in used condition). Wesson offers other compact bob tails but they are not on the CA approved list (but you can get one SSE).
If you really want a compact bob tail pistol, I think you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. Good luck.
Then I would be all over it as I stated earlier.Originally posted by jdg30The gun has the test fire casing from late 2010.Comment

I had sold a PM7 previously too, as soon as I walked out of the FFL, I had seller's remorse... so I went and found myself another one.try finding one cheaper...try even finding one...just look at some of the ridiculous prices on the market place here....i seen a glock for $1000 and a cz for a lil less the other day...i loled...at least youll be getting a real nice piece...i have a late 2010 pm7 that i thought about selling...wondered what i could get...but then i realized i really like this gun...very nicely made
Now if I can just find a CBOB, VBOB/Valor (SSE) for a decent price...Comment

I over paid for my CBOB, but my judgement was clouded from wanting one for so long. I paid $1600 here on Calguns. I love the gun and it was in good shape. Good luck finding a new one. In hindsight I should have dropped down another $300 and got a Valor via SSE.
My PM7 on the other hand I purchased brand new from Bud's prior to the price hike on them a couple of years ago. I believe it was $975 new, and prior to FFL's collecting sales tax.Comment

I have a DW PM-7 and the quality is good for a production gun. Keep in mind DW offers a 3 year warranty. I also have a SA Loaded and SA warrants their guns for life. If I were in the market for another 1911, I might seriously consider the TRP for a comparable price. I did have to send my DW PM-7 back to them for work due to feeding issues. They honored the warranty and now it is a good gun.Comment

If it really only has a few hundred rounds through it, it would be a good price. Not a great price. You might be able to snag a used Les Baer for slightly more, but a bird in the hand sort of thing would have me getting the CBOB since it is available to you now.
I got a 2012 CBOB new for a little more than what you could for a slightly used one. And I grabbed while the grabbing was good.Send Lawyers, Guns and Money - On second thought, hold the Lawyers.Comment

I'd consider dropping another couple hundred for a Vbob, personally, but DW's are hard to come by right now. Shop around, check Gunbroker, make sure there isn't a better buy out there, but you won't regret your purchase. They make a fine 1911.Citizen.Comment
