    PASHSING THROUGH

    I am a non resident with a Utah,Arizona,Nevada, & Oregon C.C.P. We will be
traveling through California quite bit in a RV 5th. Does anyone know the laws
as far as transporting my weapon and as a non resident if I can have it
loaded if I am inside my RV while pulled over at night time? I do realize I can not carry while in your State. I've also been told there is no way for a non resident to get a C.C.P.in Califorina is this also true?

I believe you are allowed to have a loaded firearm (and carry) in a campsite or even a hotel room... Someone with much more accurate info will be sure to chime in... Enjoy Cali!!

It depends on the gun. If it is a gun which is prohibited in CA, you can still pass through the state with it unloaded and in a locked container. But, you can only stop for fuel and emergencies. If it is a gun which is legal under CA law, you can have it loaded at your campsite. However, if you have any +10 round mags, they need to be disassembled or they need to have been possessed in California, by you, prior to 1-1-2000.

From my research you are fine to have it loaded if the rv is in residence mode, ie you've stopped for the evening and set up to eat dinner, go to bed, etc. when you are driving the firearm must be unloaded in a locked container.
