    Alumagrips

Anyone has experience with Alumagrips? I am thinking of getting a pair or two for my 1911's because I think they look cool.

Thoughts? Care to share your experience - pro and con?

I have slim Alumagrips on a couple of my 1911s and I like them.

Like most things it's a matter of personal taste. In my case I had never used them until I bought a Commander with them already installed and quickly grew to like them. As time goes on I may install them on more of my 1911s.

People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

Tried some and didn't like them. I like the original grips my Sig came with now that they are starting to wear a little after about 5k in rounds thru it

I've got them on my 92FS. They're great. Thinner than the stock Beretta rubber, they don't get slippery, and the texture just sticks to the palm of my hand. These grips are so phenomenal that I've actually held off on getting Lasergrips because I just don't want to give them up.

As PS above said, they work well, are thin - as thin as stock on 92FS.

BUT - compared to Hogue Extreme Aluminums, there is no comparison in quality.

The Hogues are perfect, the Alumagrips I bought from Beretta (have Trident on them) had brush wheel marks on them.

But, either are very comfortable grips that will outlast the gun.

These are the Alumagrips from BUSA

And my pic of Hogue Extremes vs. AlumaGrips (crappy picture)

Yeah, the ones by Hogue, those are the ones that I've got. I was using "Alumagrip" as a generic-ish term, I suppose.

            They're just absolutely wonderful.

Thanks for the insight. I will also look into Hogue ones.
