Magazine Rebuild Kits question PLEASE HELP

    Hi,
I was told that if I bought a magazine hi-cap rebuild kit (magazine body, floorplate, spring, and follower) to use to fix my existing preban grandfathered hicap magazines it is not against California law. Can someone confirm with me on that? Has there been a ruling either way or is it a grey area. If there is a page or site where this has been documented (I'm sure somewhere and someone knows) can you lead me to it? This is just in case I have to print it out as evidence to someone I want to buy a hi-cap rebuilt kit from out of state. I love this site and you band of brothers are great. Please give me a hand here so that I do not do anything illegal unintentionally.

If you would have searched you would have found that the DOJ has answered this.

Thank you so kindly. So in a situation like this can I replace my old preban follower with a new shell like the Lancer shell? Or my old follower inside a new Magpul shell? I am just rebuilding my old worn out magazine shell. What do you guys think...would that be logical? ( I do have lots of preban magazines mind you)

I got some aluminum bodies from C Products recently... they got to me within a few days (well under a week).

            Lancer body

So why can't I have a lancer or a Pmag body?

go for it.. Any body's ok. If you take them at their word even post ban and LE Only marked bodies are fair game.

What year were your hi-cap magazines "grandfathered" to you?

I bought my mags 2000 is that early enough? Stocked up well before sb23 and delayed the purchase of a new car. Out of the forces in 1994 bought my first AR in 1997. Last gun purchased Robinson ARMs Expeditionary and HK-SL8
