    Para quality

I found a full size para tactical double stack 45 auto at my lgs today. I noticed the frame was cast not forged like my sa. I have heard alot of gunsmiths won't work on ria because there frames are cast. Is this the case with the para? Are ALL paras cast?

No, you'll find a number of 'smiths who will work on, and some who specialize in, Para-Ordnance pistols. Current Para-Ordnance double stack pistols have two common issues in my experience with them; the magazines may require tuning to work at their best, and you may want to replace the "Power Extractor" setup with a sleeve and standard 1911 style extractor.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

Para double stacks can be rather finicky. I would go with STI if I had to have a double stack.

        IMO...
Quality went down when they moved and reorganized from Para-Ordinance to ParaUSA.
