I just picked up a Gen 2 Glock 23. Took it to the range and it shoots just like a Glock (a good thing IMO). What I noticed about this is there is a small quarter-moon bit of polymer missing from the FRONT of the grip. From what I've read...right or worng...is that this notch is to be used in conjunction with the rear gap to rip non-drop-free mags out in the case of a jam. Makes sense since the Gen 2 was made when mags were transitioning, I believe.
It's the only Glock I have that has this and I don't really like it at all. It's a pretty sharp bit of machining and it cuts into the flesh side of my pinky. It would appear my options are: A) get a Gen 3 or 4; B) file the sharp edge down; or C)??
I'm in the process of applying for my CCW and want this gun on my application. I take a Front Site course in 12 days and my CCW course in 16 days, so DROS-ing a new one isn't ideal since I want to spend more time practicing with it. Filing it down would take the bite out of it, but my pinky would still feel a little "off" sitting on top of the gap.
Any ideas?
