    You will not have problems Thousands of people fly from/to CA with their (legal, unloaded, locked container) firearms.

    I regularly fly to Pacific Northwest with one or more ARs and a pistol and a fair amount of ammo and hicap mags. No problems at all.

      I have a friend who forgot to declare his Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 mag when going to Alaska. Think he was more worried about getting a serious earful from his wife and fishing buddy for this major brain fart then the actual handslapping and fine from the airline.
