    Jumped the gun

So I ordered my RIA Tactical 1911 from Sarco inc. and I had it sent to Bright Spot Pawn. It arrived on April 1st so i drove from Burbank(work I live in rancho) to Bright Star to do the dros. Well Yesterday I show up a little early and I sit around in the parking lot burning off some time (I completed the dros paper work at 4:03pm) so i have like 10 minute. Anyways I get inside and the gentlemen (I dont recall his name, very nice guy though.) takes a look at my paper work and say "Hum, you pick up on 4:11" So I look at the clock and I tell him I can wait. He smiles at me and says " Sorry, I mean the date 4/11/08 todays 4/10/08"

    DOH!

I can't believe I did that, I felt like a dope. So i told him sorry and that I would be back tomorrow. I guess I just got a little excited and jumped the gun.

Yup! That extra one day to cool off will save someone's life. Arghhhh... I still haven't caught the mentallity of this whole waiting game. I have registered so called assault weapons, but yes the 10 day period must be applied to all my purchases just in case that's what I want to use to go on a rampage. Arggghhhh...

It gets worse when you try to remember exactly when, 30 days ago, you DROSed your last handgun. Don't jump the gun then, or you lose your DROS fee.

+1 on the 30 days. It never fails. You get handgun and find another handgun at an incredible deal you can't pass up, only to have to wait 30 days to dros it.

I'm lucky that I havent had to deal with that.

Does the 30 days count towards Rifles as well, I mean now If I want to buy a hunting rifle my handgun purchase won't affect that?

Don't feel bad, You will pick it up today.. I did the same thing about 4 months ago.. Instead of 1 day early, I was 2 days early... To make matters even worst, the actual pickup date, I was not able to pick it up and then a holiday followed where I ended up waiting 13 days to pick her up...

Nope. No limit on rifles and they don't affect the stupid 30-day rule for handguns.

It's a stupid rule especially if you already own firearms.

Hey Badfish, I don't mean to be rude but did you get a decent price from Sarco?

I have 2 buddies that want RIA's. Does anyone around carry them? I'd rather have a local shop make the bucks if possible than someone else.

Yea, don't feel bad, one time I called ahead the day before I was supposed to pick up and found out that the FFL hadn't uploaded my DROS, and I had to wait another 10 days (15 if you include the weekends).

Nope, you can buy a thousand rifles at a time if you want.

You'd have to break it up into 200 DROS, if I remember right. 5 rifles per DROS. It might get you a chat with someone, though. But it'd be legal.
