Which Compact 1911 .45 Do you Recommend?

Wanted to get some opinions on a Compact or sub compact 1911 .45. I liked the kimber line, but heard that their quality control has gone down. Any suggestions of which one to get and why?

not really a compact, since it still has a Commander lenght slide, but the shorter frame is what really matters when trying to conceal.

If you want the absolute smallest and best compact 1911, find a Detonics Combat Master, not sure if it's on the CA list of guns we sheople are allowed.

I have a 3" 1911 (kimber Ultra Carry II) and it doesn't require a tool to field strip.

+1 on the kimber ultra carry II... 5k+ rounds down no problems at all after the first 400 or so. Its one of my edc's...

I have Para ordnance P-10 built in the late 1990's Great subcompact 10+1 1911 double stack. Lots of rounds through it, surprising reliable and accurate for such a small gun. I know some of the P-10s had problems, but mine has always worked flawlessly. Not sure about the current production Warthog. I have a mid 90's P-14 full size 1911, that broke the barrel link a couple of months ago, called Para, they sent me a shipping label via the internet, sent it to them and it was back in my hands repaired in a week. They really do stand behind there products. Lots of great choices these days in the 1911 format if you have got the scratch.

There are a ton to choose from! I really liked the Sig Saurs as well. they look like the kimbers, but supposedly have better customer service.
