    Number of mags per gun

For people with multiple handguns, how many mags per gun do you own? If you have multiple calibers/platforms, I would figure this could get expensive quickly. I try to keep at least 3 mags per gun, but with magazine prices what they are these days, it's sometimes hard to find mags that don't break the bank, and nevermind rebuild kits.

4 or 5 tops. But I don't shoot matches. Match shooters always seem to have about 50.

I try to have at least 4 magazines per handgun.Even if some use the same mag.

2 1911s means at least 8 1911 magazines for me.Likely hood of wearing out 4 or 4 failing is low.

I've got 10 or 12 right now for my 92FS. When I had a 1911 I had about 25 or 30, but that was because the gunners' mates found a whole bin of 1911 mags left over when they were cleaning out the armory back in 2002 or so, and passed me a BUNCH of 'em.

                How I was taught...

Take the amount of magazines you would normally carry and the double it.
That way you have spares, in case a magazine breaks/gets lost.

For serious guns... my various Glocks that I use for CCW, my AR, etc, I don't feel comfortable with less than about 20 magazines per.

Range toys, 5-10 per is good.

As we've seen in New York, not even your 10-rounders are safe. Magazines can be legislated away with the stroke of a pen. Stock up.

Atleast 6 for each of my guns on my LTC permit. 3-4 for my range guns minimum. Reminds me that I need a couple more for my SR22 pistol. 10 for my rifles. Minimum 20 stripper clips ready at all times for the Mosin! Just in case SHTF.

I feel the same. AR mags are a different story though.

I'm exercising my 5th amendment right to freedom from self incrimination. let's just say the clinton administration had a significant impact on me. in fact, it's one of the things keeping me from buying more pistols.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Can never have too many, but 5 is my minimum.
I have actually lost count of how many 1911 (5 guns) and Glock 22 and 23 mags I have (5 Glock .40).
