EFK Fire Dragon Ported or Threaded Barrels

I am considering the EFK Fire Dragon (http://www.efkfiredragon.com/) ported barrel or threaded barrel with compensator for my SIG SAUER P220 Elite Stainless.

Does anyone have experience with EFK Fire Dragon products?

What do you think...ported or threaded with compensator?

It is CA legal to have a threaded barrel installed on a non-semi-auto handgun and on a semi-auto pistol that uses a fixed magazine.

Threaded barrel installed on a bolt-action pistol = legal
Threaded barrel installed on a lever-action pistol = legal
Threaded barrel installed on a pump-action pistol = legal

You could have the compensator permanently attached if you chose to.

I would probably opt for a Stormlake, Lonewolf, or KKM.

Reviews on the EFK barrels are a toss-up, and the last time I saw an EFK barrel, it was used in a Single-Shot Exemption on a 1911 that I purchased.

Waste of money in my opinion. Save the cash for more ammo or a reloading press.

EFK barrels have super tight chambers.

They work great if you load your own ammo and use tight tolerances on your bullet dimensions, not so much if you shoot factory.

If you want a ported barrel that can shoot factory ammo try Bar-Sto and tell them on the order that you will shoot factory ammo.

The aftermarket barrels can be VERY accurate if you follow the fundamentals.

I would avoid EFK. I bought a ported 1911 barrel from them. Chamber was visibly misaligned. Sent that back in exchange for a new one. Received a barrel with the outer diameter about .040 undersized. When I called again to set up another exchange the owner suggested I just try shooting it to see if it shot alright. The thing was so loose you could have parked a Buick (no offense to Buick) alongside it and it probably would have still gone into battery. I sent back that barrel in exchange for a conversion barrel (40sw to 9mm) for my CZ-75. That barrel is also a little loose at the muzzle but not dangerously so. It also (as mentioned by another poster) is a little on the tight side (bore diameter) and loads which are safe in several other 9mm pistols show signs of excessive pressure in this barrel. So, long story short, 2 grossly mismachined barrels returned for a less expensive barrel shipped on my dime and no refund for ending up with a cheaper product in the end. I highly doubt I'll be buying from them again.

I'd avoid EFK Fire Dragon just because their customer service is crap, actually the worst I've ever dealt with. Extremely rude, unprofessional and just plain a holes.
Granted my experience was 10 years ago, I never bough from them since.
