No idea on value, but they're nice....REALLY nice handguns. I regret selling mine. I bought it and sold it for $325 back in the '70's. -
You have to provide more information. How's the overall condition machanically and finish? Will it come with the original grips, box and papers? What barrel length? If it's mint - say 97% with just a hint of cylinder drag line (normal for a fired revolver) and with box/papers, I'd say he's a very good friend if he gives it to you for $800. Look it up in Gunbroker.com and you'll get an idea. If people are bidding like crazy that's another great sign. You'll see lots of overpriced guns in there, so you need to pay attention if people are actually buying at that price. BTW, I did not ad for the CA premium for off list guns. The wise man said just find your place

I have a 1968 model, second year of production( low serial #), 98% with box and papers (original box is cardboard, not the later clam shell foam with slip cover and would ask $1.000.00 for it."The California matrix of gun control laws is among the harshest in the nation and are filled with criminal law traps for people of common intelligence who desire to obey the law." - U.S. District Judge Roger T.
