    Hi Need some info..

Hi, someone once posted all the info on the FFL's in the Orange County area that give discounts to Calguns members. Can someone point me out to that post thread? Or better yet give me the run down on how much you know they charge for face to face private transfer.
    THanks

All face-to-face (both seller and buyer are present) transfers are limited to $35 each.

...but be wary that some FFLs will illegally charge you more and label it a "storage fee" or some other nonsense, in direct violation of the law. (this directed at the OP) I'm doing a pickup this weekend on one of those, once it's in my possession (so I can't get screwed anymore) I'm going to give them an earful about breaking the law as a dealer, with hopes there will be many other customers in the store to listen.

Also be more wary of FFLs who FORCE you into buying $20 gun locks! No matter if you have a safe or NOT!!!! ie. GW in Burbank!

If it's a handgun, forcing the seller to buy a lock is not unreasonable, as there is a relatively new and ambiguous federal law that arguably requires that. However, $20 is still ridiculous.

The Fed law is not new. The feds have not gotten around to determining what an acceptable gun safe is, so the lock requirement is in force. That is why even though your gun safe affidavit is OK for California, it is NOT OK with the Feds. Just go buy a lock that is on the CA DOJ list (I think there is one) within 30 days of the handgun purchase, bring the lock and receipt with you...

I got gun locks from Fremont PD before but it was hard to get a receipt. Just buy a lock from Walmart for $5 and the receipt is good for 30 days. If the FFL won't accept it, then let us all know.
