I'm probably just going to leave it stock for now. It really isn't that bad in stock form. But I was already placing a brownells order so I gave the Ghost a try. I'll keep that link in mind if I decide to try again, thanks.

Actually, I learned how to shoot on my G19, so I didn't know it was "bad" trigger. Years later, even now that I'm spoiled by Les Baer and Matt Mink triggers, I still think the Glock trigger is not as bad as everyone says. It can be improved, however.

Out of the box XD triggers, from what I've felt, were worse than stock Glock triggers.

Ok, I'll add something informative. I also use the triggerkit stated in Bambam-31's post. One with the LWD connector and the other with a regular Ghost Rocket connector (without the overtravel stop). My G34 w/ the triggerkit and Ghost Rocker connector is very, very smooth... as such the G17 is noticeably grittier by comparison. But all the triggerkit consists of is a polished trigger bar, lightened springs and a beveled plunger. A 3.5# factory connector for extra if you wish.

One thing that was brought to my attention was how much the beveled plunger makes a difference in smoothness. Honestly, I think with a connector of your choice, light competition springs (striker, plunger, and trigger), and a beveled plunger I could get pretty much very close, or the same result as the triggerkit.

Of course YMMV...


P.S I've tried the Scherer connector by itself and it definitely had one of the vaguest trigger pulls I've experienced. It felt like the overcooked spaghetti analogy.

I use the lightning strike aluminum triggers in all my glocks. Once you feel the sturdiness off a metal trigger... its hard to shoot a glock with a plastic one.

install the lonewolf 3.5 connector, 6lb trigger spring, and lone wolf ultimate overtravel stop and you will be really happy with the trigger.

basically the rocket is a connector with a overtravel stop tab thats not adjustable.
so you have to alter it right the 1st time.
the lone wolf is a adjustable overtravel stop and makes things loads easier.

I must be one of the few people who doesn't hate the Glock trigger. Sure, it's no Kimber, but I strongly prefer the stock Glock trigger to the stock XD (for example). The big difference for me is the reset distance on the XD is much longer, so follow-up shots with a Glock are faster and more accurate for me.

I think the trigger is the only part of a glock that I'm okay with... Maybe the grip was just a poor enough fit to my hand that I couldn't feel trigger issues.

To avoid the s***storm that comes of perceived glock-bashing: I respect them as accurate and reliable firearms. All problems I have with them are pure preference, and I am well aware of that. Maybe I should put that disclaimer in my sig line.

Nothing wrong with the stock Glock trigger except that they're heavy. Installed Glockmeister's trigger kit complete with 3.5# disconnector and lighter trigger spring. Now both my 21SF and 30 have 4 1/2 lb trigger pulls and maintains that constant weight until the trigger breaks. I like it.

Comparing a Glock trigger to the pure single-action trigger on a 1911 is a serious case of comparing apples and oranges. The Glock is designed to provide safe carry without resorting to a separate manual safety, which means it should really be compared to the trigger on DA/SA guns like the Beretta 92 and the SIG P-series. Even out of the box, the Glock trigger beats either one of those hands down--the trigger is always in the same locatiion, the pull weight is always the same, and it's a heck of a lot lighter on the first shot.

That doesn't mean that Glock trigger can't be improved, especially if it's mostly going to be a range gun.

I haven't tried the Ghost Rocket, but I went to all the trouble of fitting a Ghost Tactical on one of my G21s and was deeply disappointed. At a friend's recommendation I put in a Scherer 3.5 lb. connector. It's kind of mis-named, since the pull weight only drops to 3 lbs. 12 ozs., but combined with the famous 25-cent trigger job it produces a really nice pull.

It still isn't up to par with a decent 1911 trigger, but it's pretty good on its own.
