Shooting gloves when using .357 mag.

Can anyone recommend some gloves? Every time I take my .357 mag to the range, I end up getting a blister on my right hand

A lot of people just go with Mechanix gloves in a tacticool color, does the job without being bulky.

What kind of grips are on your .357 mag.
Changing to a rubber grip (maybe Hogue) might solve your problem.

There are a lot of different work/mechanic's gloves at Home Depot that are not tacticool brands, but similar.

I have been hapy with Hatch shooting gloves- not too expensive. If you want the fancy (expensive) ones you can look at Oakley or WileyX.

Unless they have changed up Mechanix in the last few years, they melt pretty easily. It seems every pair I had while turning wrenches ended up missing the tips of the thumb and index finger from heat damage.

A batting/golf glove is a cheap solution.
I keep a batting glove in my range bag for times I shoot a 1911 without a beaver tail to avoid hammer bite.

Honestly, two suggestions.

#1, Be a man. After 7-10 range sessions, a callous(sp?) will build up and you'll be GTG. As long as there is no blood, there's no problem.

#2, Try new grips. You'd be surprised what different grips can do. When I replaced the grips on my BFR, I took an INSTANT dislike to them. Uncomfy, and "put my fingers in the wrong place". But group sizes shrank up like crazy. So I lived with it and stuck with it. Now I can never go back to the old grips. These are superior.

FYI I shoot 460S&W from an uncompensated revolver and never use gloves.

I've tried gloves on my .44's and although helpful, they just don't really fit or feel right. If I'm going to shoot more than a few rounds, I put on a some cloth athletic tape. Carry a roll in the range bag. If I'm going to shoot for a while, I put on the gloves.

Everybody has different hands. I swapped grips and they made a big difference.
