    Gun show

There is a gun show coming up in San Diego and I'm wondering if its even worth it to attend given the state of ammo and magazines. I would be interested in going to pick up ammo and magazines, maybe a few accessories but not sure if its worth the time and money. Has anyone been to a gun show lately? If so, what's it like for ammo and magazines?

There are still deals to be had on ammo, especially reloads. I've purchased three times from SureFire at the show and am very happy with the product and the prices were very good (all things considered). Miwall and LAX have really good deals too, as long as you're willing to wait in a gargantuan line after having waited in a gargantuan line just to get in.

I'm going to be in Tucson, AZ this weekend and my trip just happens to conveniently coincide with the Crossroads of the West Gun Show out there. I'll give a report at to how it goes.

I went to the one in Santa Maria last weekend. It was a total waste of time. $20-$30 rebuild kits going for $50-$75. I was looking for a 10 round mag for my SIG 229 and all I could find was a single promag rebuild kit and they wanted $65 bucks for it. I wouldn't bother going to another one until all this madness dies down

That what I was afraid of. I'm still not sure if I'm going to chance it next week. I guess I'll wait to see how Phoenix works out.

I'm going if for no other reason than to support the show... don't plan on looking for ammo and I can't go on Saturday but I'm looking for a new hand guard and some cleaning supplies...

I didn't look at ammo myself. I was just there for a mag. My mother in law got a case of 9mm for $250 if that helps you judge pricing at all.

Completely agree on the magazine issue. I can deal with most of the other prices on things, but magazines are out of control. There's 2 or 3 big outfits that I've seen at all of the Cali shows, and they're all crooks. $74 for a factory Glock 19 ten rounder....are you F'n kidding me?!?!?!?! $68 for a Hi Power 10 rnd and get this... $55 for and XD9 10rnd. Unbelievable. It's remarkable to me that anyone actually buys from them. You'd think people would know better. Clearly they're simply taking advantage of new gun owners or just really, really stupid people.
