Anyone else interested in the Glock 30S?

Looks like the Glock 30S is currently not on the approved roster, even though they are currently producing them as Gen3s.

What's your take on this relatively new Glock? Looks like a sweet package to me! I think I might SSE a Gen4 once they come out.

I shot a G30 SF today and now find myself wanting one for LTC duty/backpacking gun (w/10 mm conversion ).

That's if I can find one local, if not the M&P 45c has been on my 'wish list' for going on 2 years now but will be harder to get being that it is 'off-roster.'

This new G30 S looks interesting....

I shot a Glock 30S on Tuesday and it was pretty sweet. I shot it next to my XD 40 and the Glock was definitely easier to handle even though it was a subcompact and chambered in a .45. They improvements that they had done to the 30S definitely helped with its recoil and made it much easier for you to place your follow up shots near the previous.

If I had the chance to buy one i would definitely trade of my XD for one in a heartbeat.

~4mm thinner on the slide, but same frame as the 30SF.
Glock is marketing it as more concealable than the 30SF...sure I guess .

They need to make more single stack/slimline .

They've done the single stack/slim line on the 36, personally, my favorite and most easily carried Glock. If they would just listen to their customers and go with a single stack 9mm in G26 sizing I think they'd have a winner.

From what Ive read the 30s is a 30sf frame with 36 slide. The 36 slide is about the same size as the 19 and from what Ive read the 36 will fit in most holsters made for the 19.

I would almost definitely buy a single stack G26.

If you want to carry a double stack .45 sub compact, than it's for you. I have shot both the 30s and the 30SF and if I was in the market, I would be pretty torn. Because of the less mass of the 30s slide recoil is a little more noticeable then on the 30SF.

In a perfect world, I'd get the 30SF and then pick up a 36 upper to have the best of both worlds.

Well remember I'm comparing it to my XD I have not shot the Glock 30SF, but from what the i was told by the person who was testing the pistol out was that by putting the Glock 36 slide on the 30sf body it lowered the bore axis which helped with the muzzle flip.

Both pistols were stock. XD is a 40 (tactical 4.5") so that may be the reason why I felt that the 30s recoil and muzzle flip was much more manageable.

I also have never fired a .45 caliber polymer pistol. So I was expecting the 30S to have more kick and be much harder to control. It being lighter and subcompact

I already own a G30SF so it would be a redundant purchase if I got a G30S. I'd rather get a Gen 4 G30 for the textured grip.

They need to make an m&p shield and call it the glock 26s. 7+1 9mm with available 10rd backup magazines. .95" thick
