After seeing all the crazy stuff going on my dad is finally getting his first gun. He is a vietnam vet and always saw guns as a tool for killing. But times have changed and he realizes he wants something for protection. He fired my revolver at my house and the next time he came to visit was all, "I want a glock." I haven't been to a gun store in months but are the shelves empty? I keep reading how it's a pita to find ammo but haven't heard anything about the availability of firearms. Can I find a glock 17 or m&p at one of the stores? Turners add is really sad right now. LOL

yeah he is not that desperate, might just wait and hope this arms race cools off. It looks like J&G sales doesn't even have cz82's anymore, or list mosins. I was going to do a j&g run. Looks like that's out of the question.Comment

I wouldn't wait too long. Kalifornia wants to ban them. If you come across one even at a higher price, I would jump on it. It may be your last chance for a few years as unconstitutional laws are challenged in court.
9mm Glocks are especially scarce. But they do filter in occasionally. But if you blink they're gone. You have to be alert and vigilent.

Patience and diligence is a virtue in times like this. Decide what you want and search for it for a fair price. Do not succum to the rip off artists taking advantage of the situation. I have been searching for a particular gun for about 1/2 a year. I found several over that time, but never at a fair price. Just earlier this week, I found a brand new "gun I wanted" at a fair price.
In the future, my plan is to support only the establishments that treated me well during these crazy times.Comment
