Springfield XDs availability?

Was just in my LGS today to buy some shoot-n-see targets(as always I look at the guns for sale, even though I am in no market for one), and overheard a customer asking about the XDs, and the response was without the CA compliance they will not make it to the roster.

The response you heard is correct.

Which is why they are being imported & sold as dimensionally compliant single-shot pistols.

Dimensionally compliant single-shot pistols are exempt from needing to be on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale.

I got lucky and my out of state dealer called and asked if I wanted one. I will see if I like it. If I dont I will be willing to sell it. I will keep you posted.

XD 45 Service =/= XDs (note, XDs =/= plural of "XD"). XDs, aka XDS, aka, XD-S, is the single-stack .45 subcompact XD that Springfield launched last year. Don't worry, it's confusing naming on Springfield's part.
