Chosing a 9mm - XDM 5.25 or STI Spartan

I'd just be more concerned what's in stock and available too you.
Wanting either but if only Spartans are available via SSE locally then I would purchase that.
Otherwise.. I'd get the XDM 5.25" or look at the M&P Pro 5", optional high capacity magazines are a bonus and plus. Something you couldn't do in a Spartan.Hornady LnL, Dillon Precision, RCBS, Lee Precision and Lyman User
If You want Match or Leadless hunting Ammo check out Monolithic Munitions Yes I am a shill, friends with the owners.

Can't go wrong with a 1911 9mm for fast target shooting. But modding them up can get expensive. But then again, nothing like having a 'target' model strikerfire handgun too like the XD/XDM 5.25 or Glock 34. Depends on what type of target shooting you want to do, how involved you want to get with it (competing or just casual fun shooting), and what type of equipment you have or plan to get for the gun.
I used my pre-ban 17rd mags in the G34 on some steel matches and I can shoot a strikerfire pistol very accurately, and Glocks feel natural to me. I can also shoot 1911's well and they feel good, but going back & for between a 1911 9mm and G34.... I have to say, I enjoyed shooting the G34 more for steel plate matches because overall it just felt better (shooting, feel, speed, etc).
But that's what worked for me and it may differ for you.Comment

On the "cool" factor, I think a XDM 5.25 is a little cooler than a 9mm 1911. But again, that's just me.
The Spartans are nice, but they're really no different compared to a 1911 9mm Springfield Loaded that you can get for around the $950 price range (and without SSE).Comment

Thanks for all the thoughts.
I was leaning toward the STI, and I know of one that is available, but then I found the XDM 5.25 and that it a damn cool gun. I currently have an XD40 4” and like the way it feels, so the 5.25 makes sense, I just have to wait for one to become available and waiting sucks!
I do like the M&P 9L Pro, but it doesn’t have that sexy vibe the 5.25 have going for it.Comment

I agree. The XDM 5.25 is nice and but a 1911 should stay as a 45ACP. That's just me.
. My father in law has a XDM 5.25 bi-tone and loves it.
