    Just how popular is .40?

    I know LE loves .40
I carry one most of the time on duty.

How popular is .40 OUTSIDE of LE?

If the current ammo shortage is any indication, much less popular than 9mm. Lots of .40 on the shelf.

Interesting. I also noticed that there are more guns in .40 available. right now.

It seems to me like .40 is mostly a cop caliber.

I have one as my HD weapon. I like it. Am planning on getting a 10mm just to have a well rounded set of calibers and also it will be a glock for a hunting sidearm.
I support the NRA, if you are not in, you can't win.

I think .40 is a well rounded caliber, but 9mm is def. way more popular

I only own .40 semis atm. however, all of the guns on my wtb list are 9mm, so there ya go.
Wish I was rich instead of so damn good looking.

Not very popular. It's the only ammo left @ Wally World.

I think people are not used to the "recoil" and prefer the 9mm due to weaker recoil and cheaper to run. I admit I only have one 40 (G22C), but I do enjoy shooting it. The fact that 40 is easier to find, as stated you can find ammo at Walmart, I'm thinking of getting an XD 40 for that reason.

                  it's not that popular.

                  FYI

I was able to get 500 rounds of 40 and not even 500 of 9 or 45 off of sgammo. i'm talkin just FMJs

I love the .40 caliber round. I carry a M&P40c with 180 grain hollowpoints daily. But the 9mm and .45 will always be more popular because they have been around over a 100 years. The .40 has only been around like 23 years.

Maybe you can find more 40 on the shelves because they are making more of it.

Skill is right. I have yet to be consistent with the .40 at the range...some days I shoot well ..some days I shoot terrible.. I once had a range instructor tell me "there is nothing wrong with this gun!" He fires and hits the target in the white...I just held my laughter ...9mm and 45 is where it is at

The less popular it is, the better off I become. More for me

Yeah, no one should buy .40s You won't be able to shoot them because they spin backwards I hear.

Besides I only have a few hundred left and need to stock up.
