Need Advice, HK P90 or M&P9

With tax returns coming soon, I'll have enough money to get a new handgun. Aside from the price difference, as we all know HKs are really expensive.. which would you guys recommend for me to buy next... P30 or M&P9? I'm looking for a 9mm platform...

(Wishful thinking if either would be even found at my local gun stores)

If you're a fan of nice triggers pick up the M&P9 and an Apex trigger kit. It'll save hundreds compared to the P30 + sending it to Bruce Gray. Asides from the trigger I'd say the P30 is just about the perfect handgun, but it has just about the ****tiest trigger on a $1000 gun.

Both of those are on my short list... But since I already have a holster that fits it; the P30 will join the family first.

I think it really depends on what kind of action you want. The M&P is a striker fired gun while the HK can be had in a DA/SA version, a DA/SA version with a safety allowing for cocked and locked carry, or in an LEM variant which is similar to a DAO but with a lighter trigger.

Both would be great guns and serve you well.

          Good luck.

Gotta love them tax returns... I'd go with the HK P30 for ergos. Never shot one, own the M&P, but prefer the ergos on the P30.

I'd get the HK if price isn't an issue. They're laser accurate. If you're just looking for a 9mm plinker then I'd get the M&P with Apex Ram and DCAEK. Then use the savings for ammo or accessories.

And the government thanks you for your interest-free loan.

                No Glocks!

If the fund can cover the cost of a P30, I would go for it. If you can only have one gun, this is it.

Which ever feels better in your hand! And you can afford. If you have a striker fire already go for hk, if you have a da/SA already go for the striker fire pistol.

Both are great guns! With the m&p9 you can get the apex kit with the money you save from not getting the hk, but the hk is more accurate out the box. Either way its a win win situation regardless of which one you buy in this scenario.

Love my P30. I changed it into a V1, which is LEM with light trigger.

Thanks for all the advice, fellas... In the end, I was able to try out my buddy's CZ-75. I don't know, but that CZ just felt right. So, after an hour at the range... I decided to get a CZ-75. Jail time is such a hassle!!!!

                          You made the right choice.

HKs DA/SA triggers in my estimation are inferior to many leading pistols, especially garden variety Beretta's. The LEM system's the way to go, but finding one can be tough.

The M&P doesn't have a trigger, it has a switch. There's a world of difference between the terms. One has a detectable reset, and the other does not. Supposedly S&W has modified the sears of 2013 models to fix that dilemma, bt it was so maddening of a problem that I sold mine.Cant shoot off reset if you can't detect it under fire, and if you can't shoot off reset it means the shooter MUST reset the trigger all the way out to ensure its not short-stroked.If that's how you have to run the gun, why bother with a striker fired piece to begin with?
The more prohibitions you have, the less virtuous people will be.
The more subsidies you have, the less self reliant people will be.

The 1911 may have been in wars for 100 years, but Masetro Bartolomeo Beretta was arming the world 400 years before John Browning was ever a wet dream.

Now that you've chosen the CZ, you can move-on and get the gun you really should have gotten; the HK P30S!

P30 is still on my list to buy. Along with the M&P9. Just too many guns to get and not enough money. But I will get them. Maybe a 1911 thrown in there...
