    Which speedloader?

So I just started the 10 day jail period on my 686-4 plus. I'm in the market for a few speedloaders. After some research the SL Variant speedloaders seem very nice. I was wondering everyone else's opinion on them along with the 5starfirearms speedloaders.

I've found the sl speedloaders at bobmacs but they are on backorder of course. I hope it doesn't take to long for them to get more instock.

Anyone else know where you can get the SL loaders?

    Thanks and happy shooting!

I looked for the SL Vs about a year ago, and they were backordered then too. Not too many places import them.

I gave up and bought Safariland speedloader. Similar to SL Vs but not as robust. They work fine and are cheaper. I like the push-in-to-release the cartridges better than the HKS twist method.

I have a 5 Star speed loader and range block for my 686 + and I really like it.

I own a 686+ and I have been very happy with the HKS speedloaders. The specific one you want is the '587' model. Its specific to the 686+. I recently had my 686+ at the range and I was practicing using my speedloaders. I have 3 of them and they all worked well and I found that I was able to load with them fairly quickly.

I have at least 4 of those; and they are my preferred speed loader. Used to carry 4 in my Sam Browne Belt.

I own both HKS and Safariland for my Model 66, and both have their ups and downs. Each of my Safarilands had a different "break"... the amount of pressure needed to eject the cartridges varied too much for my liking (if anyone knows a fix, they get a gold star). The HKS are consistent, but not as quick as the Safarilands. Overall, I give a slight edge to HKS, but only for the Safarilands' lack of consistency.

I bought a couple of 5 Star speedloaders awhile back for my Ruger Service Six. They're really nice! Did take a few weeks to show up though, I actually forgot about them. Solid aluminum, instead of plastic. The Safariland ones I ordered first didn't even fit for some reason. 5 Star is good, check them out!

I like the Safariland models, which are push and release.

                  Safari models all the way!

Safari doesn't make 7 round speedloaders. The 686+ is a 7 shot. Looks like 5star might be the ones to go with until I can get ahold of SL's

If this is a seven shot revolver, you didn't mention, Safariland doesn't make a seven shot speed loader only the 6 shot. At least I can't find one, so I bought several HKS 7 shot speed loaders.
