Given that the tlr-4 and the tlr-1 is about the same price, which would you guys prefer? I'm still undecided on the laser... my gut tells me i'll prefer a brighter light and no laser, as opposed to a weaker light with a laser... thoughts?

    so many options...
I went with the TLR-4 for my Glock 17 and liked it but never really used the laser:

For my new M9A1 I went with the TLR-1s since I liked the metal case, brighter light, longer runtime, etc. (and didn't want/need the laser...)

Now i'm between the tlr-2 and the tlr-1... i guess it comes down to the laser...
PS: I was more accurate shooting my G17 with two eyes open and focusing on the front sight vs. two eyes open and focusing on the laser. My laser could have been adjusted incorrectly

It's why I didn't bother with a laser on my newest HD firearm. My situation will mostly be hallways and stairs so unless the attack involves threats repelling into my windows from helicopters the peripheral vision doesn't concern me (plus I can train to shoot with both eyes open vs. relying on a laser that may die).

In either case if you go with the TRL-2 you can pay more and choose to use the laser or not. With the TLR-1 you won't have that option. I still went with the TLR-1 for my second purchase

My situation will most likely be the same... long hallways, stairs, and single rooms...
