    S&W 3913 question

I searched several places for the answer to this question but didn't seem to find one. Sorry if it is under my nose.

On the CA roster of certified handguns, they list two S&W 3913s approved for sale: 3913LS SKU 108290 / Alloy, Stainless Steel, Pistol, 3.5", 9mm, 12/31/2013
    3913TSW SKU 104531 / Stainless Steel, Alloy, Pistol, 3.5", 9mm, 12/31/2013

Why is the LadySmith model and the TSW model approved for sale but the general 3913 (non LS/TSW) is not?

    Thanks,
    Barney

I don believe The standard 3913 is in production so S&W didnt renew its listing.

I've wondered why any 3913/3914s are on the roster at all, since none have been made for years.

Maybe S&W keeps them there just in case they bring them back on-line.

guessing this is the right answer.

and don't forget the 3953! not on list but any of this 39 series is a great gun and if you have the chance to PPT one, do it.

I own and carry (sometimes off duty) a S&W 3914.

3913/3914 series pistols were and are VERY popular with people who actually carry/CCW all the time.

Single stack magazines are very easy to hide. Guns are very reliable, accurate ,easy to shoot, easy to hide and Smith and Wesson has a very good service dept. when and if You need it.

Thanks for the thoughts. I'm kicking myself for having not purchased one years ago. I was looking to buy used out of state when I discovered they are not on the list and it struck me as odd.

I too was surprised to find the 3913 on the list and very glad at the same time. I was fortunate to find one locally and bought it right away! Can't wait for the 10 day period to expire and get it out on the range!
