I haven't decided to get a Florida CCW, but I'm going for a Utah one... For the fingerprints, I used the local Sheriff's Department office to print a blue card... Their LiveScan system had a stack of blue cards in it and all they had to do was put the pre-printed blue card (from Utah) in the stack and my info and prints were printed on the card. No ink was needed.

My Application came with a Hard FBI Card. I made an appointment at the Sheriffs Fingerprinting Office at the local County Court Building

can someone pass along info, links, etc on getting either the FL or UT ccw - this seems like a great idea.

                Thanks in advance.

Since you live in Rancho Cucamonga, go to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department's Central Station on 655 East Third Street in San Bernardino.

They do not do fingerprint requests at the substations, you have to go to the Central Station.

For the Florida ccw you must have your fingerprints done by a law enforcement agency. I know beacuse I have the Florida non-resident ccw. They are strict about this and will deny your application if you send it without LE fingerprints!

Check online for instructors as there are many all over California. Many instructors do Utah and Florida!

                            "Attention:

My certification as a Utah Concealed Carry Weapons Instructor was revoked on 28 December 2007. This action was taken against me because I was using our video production to teach the Utah Concealed Carry Weapons Course."

                            February 1, 2008

My revocation as a Certified Utah Firearms Instructor is being upheld. Although I disagree with the outcome of their decision, I can only go forward and persevere.

I will be calling each and every one of the 73 customers whose applications have been affected by these chain of events. And I will discuss their needs on a case by case basis. One solution is to replace the Utah CCW application with an application to the State of Florida. Both are valid in 28 states. However, the Utah Non-Resident permit is not valid in Florida. So, in one very real sense the Florida CCW is more valuable. Both states' permits are valid in the State of Nevada. For a complete list of states in which the Florida CCW permit is valid, check on the link provided: http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/weapons/index.htm"

I got mine from him prior to the revocation date! Wow!
