The best 1911 value on the market.
California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.

Is the PM9 the Commander version of the PM7?

I'm late to this thread.....man, that's a really nice pistol you've got there, OP!

Sounds like you know what you like and that you know where you want to go with it...congrats!

*EDIT* Michael at EBR Works is the best, isn't he? I love/hate going there, if you know what I mean!
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
        Come on...what harm??

Well I just got a new DSLR so this was the perfect excuse to try some product photography!

About 550 rounds of 9mm and 750 of .22lr through the PM-9 now. 1 FTE from the .22 out of 150 rounds and 2 FTC with the 9mm out of 100 on the last trip out. For a range only gun, I think it's breaking in nicely.

I dimpled the slide stop to keep it in place. The factory Checkmate mags were working perfectly, but the Tripp mags allowed the 9mm bullet to shift over just a tad towards the slide stop. The Tripp mags also shifted ever so slightly in the mag well, compared to the snug factory Checkmate's. This caused the slide stop to get knocked by the bullet. I lightly filed back the inner face of slide stop and dimpled it for extra security. Problem solved and it locks back on all my mags.

I just received some Dawson 10 round mags. They fit tighter than the Tripp's, but not as snug as the Checkmate's (just barely). I'll report on their reliability after my next range trip.

tl;dr I'm absolutely in love with this gun. I'm thrilled that I snapped it up before the Dan Wesson shortage. I have yet to see another PM-9 for sale, used or not.

Here's the latest pics from tonight:

Dan Wesson makes terrific 1911 pistols. My Dan Wesson PM7s worked perfectly right out of the box and still do. State-of-the-art modern CNC technology results in a very fine, reliable, and accurate pistol. Neither of my 2 PM-7s were too tight out of the box. They were perfect.
