    Marking Magazines

What do you use to mark your magazines?

Are there some things that just rub off too quickly in your experience? A sharpie won't do it on a black magazine, but would some kind or paint pen wear off?

    Sig SP2022 (9mm)
    Beretta 92 (9mm)
    Steyr M9-A1 (9mm)
    M1a Scout (308cal)

Dear Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms,
    Thanks for the idea!

Get a silver sharpie? Those work a lot better than black ones in my experience anyway...

I permanently mark mine with a vibration engraver and then fill with a paint marker if desired.

I spray paint the floor plate of mine. It doesn't rub off and is easily identifiable on the ground

I use these from Dawson Precision (grip tape stickers), they have them for all the major brands (Glock, XD, M&P, 1911). The cost is about $7 for 6 stickers.

The perm markers wear off Easily in my experience. Gonna need something more solid. Engraving is probably a better idea

I use silver sharpie but find that I have to reapply, as it comes off whenever I clean/lube my mags (I use froglube).

                  This actually works really well.

Just make sure you don't use your wife's expensive stuff.

Or just buy your own if you are manly enough.

I previously used small numbered labels from a label machine. It's been about half a year or so since they have been marked, and they're staring to lift a little bit, but nothing to bad.

Finger nail polish. I find the little samplers for under a buck at Walmart and have a number of colors for the different guns. Some polish even has glitter.

I don't know how bad the wear is. The numbering on my mags is what I would call "Field Expedient" engraving
