Sorry if this has been covered but I wanted to know if the Olympic Arms AR pistol can be CA approved if it has a bullet button installed? I followed the CA Handgun flow chart and it looks like it should be legal because the bullet button would make the magazine "undetachable", right?

I've always wanted one of these pistols and now that I can finally afford one it looks like I can't get one

I've always love Olympic Arms and their quality.

Olympic Arms OA-93, OA-96 & OA-98 pistols are not make/model banned, but they are not on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale.

So, they need to be imported into CA as dimensionally compliant single-shot pistols.
This can be accomplished by installing a maglock and using a 0 round magazine/sled.

After the 4473/DROS/10 day wait, the 0 round magazine/sled can legally be replaced with a 10 round or less magazine.

Wow, thanks for that. So I need to find a seller who will work with me and install those parts for me, correct? Because I assume that it would not be legal for me to buy one not configured like that and change it over once it is shipped to my FFL? In other words, me or my FFL couldn't change the gun to a single shot after it is received here?

I beleive a quality FfL will modify the pistol so its "safe" for you .

You mean on my end or the sellers? I guess what I mean is can I buy one not configured for CA and then make it CA legal after it gets here?

If your CA FFL dealer has an assault weapons permit, then it can be shipped to the CA FFL dealer and the CA FFL dealer can modify it to be CA legal.

If your CA FFL dealer does not have an assault weapons permit, then it needs to be made CA legal prior to being shipped to CA.
