Boberg XR9S - innovative loading design.

Not on the roster of course

The claw feeding system gives a longer barrel length in a smaller size. Neat innovation.

The photo above is of my XR9-S.

It is a very cool little gun. It fits in a back pocket, but does not break my wrist when I fire it. It isn't a match target gun, but I can aim with it much easier then with a tiny mouse gun.

I had it SSEed through Valkyrie Arms before they imploded due to bad finances.

Here is my review of it that I archived on my own personal site: http://unusedusername.com/wp/?p=206

Since I've written this review I've found that running the gun really wet with TW25b keeps everything working perfectly. I initially tried to use the slide-glide I use on my Sigs, but that stuff is way to heavy for the XR9-S.

Arne Boberg is awesome. Call him up and he can make a SSE kit to ship them here.

I'm not sure how much he would charge for such a thing as Valkyrie Arms used a SSE kit made by calguns user SJgunguy24.

Concealed Carry magazine did a feature on this little pistol this month. I'm not one to read about a gun and then want to rush out and buy it, but I really like this design. This would be a nice one to put on the permit. Not much bigger than my LCP, but in the larger caliber and probably nicer to shoot than the LC9.

Not inexpensive though, and once you SSE it you're well north of a grand. Still, really tempting.

A buddy of mine owns one, and I test fired it for him.

If I close my eyes, it feels much like my Kel-Tec PF9. That is, light and a bit snappy, though the trigger is nice and smooth.

It's a real engineer's pistol- lots of design and new ideas went into that thing! They're expensive, but if you see how much work it probably took to make, it's not a bad deal for the thing. It feeds like a belt-fed MG.

If I were to carry though, I'm not sure I'd trust it- that's a lot of extra moving parts to gain an inch or two of barrel...

the .96" width is very impressive... but looking at the photos, I'm thinking those specs are the grip only *the slide looks much wider - maybe it's the photo angle?

I haven't given a lot of attention to this pistol... and it may be more than it seems... but tried & true in my immediate reach are P938 and Shield 9...

This Boberg looks a bit gordita... however, the M&P Shield is slightly thick too... but Sig's P938 specs out a bit thicker than this Boberg and it's paper thin (I mean really thin!)... I think Boberg was going for marketing with the exaggerated .96" claim (but I could be entirely wrong).

The Ruger lc9 is only 0.90 in thick. Yeah the barrel is slightly longer but it carries very well and you don't have to SSE it.

I remember reading about it a year or so ago. I heard there was some problems with it. Forgot what it was though.

                    They're now taking pre-orders for a 45 ACP version.

Their website says no shipments to California though, so not sure if that also includes to FFLs who'd do the SSE conversion.
