    1911??? armor tuff or cerakote???

Ive finally decided to send my kimber stainless raptor into wilson combat for some upgrades after a few 1000 rounds. I plan on coating it once its finished with the upgrades. My ? is this should I let wilson put theri armor-tuff finish on it or send it to my local certified cerakote guy to put the finishing touches on it. Any insight would be great thanks in advance.

I havent sent it to be coated by either as of yet so its just a plain ol stainless raptor. Im trying to get a response from any one who owns or has experience with either of theses finishes.

Since Wilson already has your gun I would just have them do the finish while they have it apart. I've heard great things about both finishes so really why wait for it to come back so you can send it to someone else?

I have three guns that are cerakoted, it is a very good looking and durable finnish but if I was in your shoes, I'd let Wilson handle it while they have your gun. Nothing but good with the Armor Tuff.

This, the new armortuff is good stuff. Any differences in the two finishes are negligible.

My vote is for Cerakote. If you're in SoCal , check with Dave's Metal Works in Covina,626-859-0299. Great gunsmith and a good guy to do business with.
Here's a Commander he built for me and Cerakoted in Sniper Gray.

In the pictures above the black is ok but I think the rest are butt ugly.

Cerakote seems to be winning in the polls. That commander is a thing of beauty.
