    Trijicon vs. Meprolight?

With tax time coming I'm looking to do some upgrades. I currently have a Beretta Px4 and want to upgrade my sights.

Which is a better choice? Trijicon or Meprolight? Are there any other options I should be looking at as well?

    Thanks in advance.

Have you seen both for the PX4? I know only Meprolight has any for the 8040 of late... could have it backwards. Personally have Trijicon on my Sig and Meprolights on the Glocks and I can't tell the difference, but have been "told" the Meprolight dots are a little larger.

I think I have seen both online for the Px4 but I could be wrong. Any idea if one last longer than the other?

Over the years my trijicon's have outlasted the one set of meprolight sights I had.

I have both on my Glocks. I prefer the Trijicon sights. Specifically the Trijicon HDs.

What do you prefer about them? I haven't seen the HD.

For NS, I prefer Trijicons. For indoor range, I like Heinies. Outdoor range, red fiber optics.

I've got Meprolight on a Sig, and a set of XS express on a Glock. To me the XS are a bit faster to pick up in full dark.

I like that the tritium vial on the Meps is white as I can pick that up a little faster in good light. Maybe the Trijicons have that now too, but their older 1911 sights did not.

+1 Your going to get different responses about which is brighter, but I think those differences are partial to personal preference ( I have mepros, so I would recommend those, but I'm sure Trijicon's are great too.) More important is the layout. Do you like a three dot, two dot, etc... I personally have difficulty picking up the three dot in low/no light. Even with green in the front and yellow in the rear. Figure out what you prefer, then just find the best deal.

Yeah I agree with alot of the aboves. I really like the Heinie straight 8's and the big dots. I do know that almost all the Kimbers with night sights are mepro though. 1st link is just the Mepro sales pitch.

I prefer the Mepro's. I don't know if they've changed recently, but mine have a protective resin over the vials vs. my Trijicons which don't.

I did the research when I was looking at both sights. Mepro is brighter and Trij is more High Def, as in it has a more defined edge. If it was on a screen, it would be less pixelated and have a more well defined edge while the mepro is brighter, larger, and more "pixelated". This was my finding anyways, hope it helps.

Can't go wrong with either one...
