Remember that you get what you pay for.

Be willing to at least spend a few bucks more on a good quality holster. You will not regret it in the long run.

Do NOT buy a Fobus. Just my .02 worth for you.

Some things to answer so we can point you in the right direction..........

Preferred material? Kydex, leather, nylon, injection molded plastic?

Carry style? Inside the waistband (IWB) or outside the waistband (OWB)?

Use for the holster? Tactical stuff, concealment, everyday range use?

Level of retention? Friction, thumb-break, level III DNA-coding electromagnetic release?

How fast do you want/need it?

How much are you willing to pay?

There's probably more detailed quetions but this should get you thinking for a bit.

after going through toooooooooooo many holsters....if'n you're talking CCW I can ONLY reccomend either a Mitch Rosin or a Milt sparks. VERY WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL worth the lil' extra money.

My 0.02.......... stay far far away from kydex type, fobus, etc crap...

If you're looking for cheap but high quality, you might wanna think about a used holster.

I picked up a very nice Safariland holster for my Sig 229 (only a couple of small cracks, easily treated) for $8 from www.cdnninvestments.com. Fits a little snugly with the CT grips on it, but that's not the holster's fault. It's gotten easier to fit it in there, since I've left it in the holster for a few nights...

What do I mean by affordable? around $20.
No, I don't have CCW and doubt will get one here in San Diego county.
I want something I can carry unconcealed and use at the range for practice.

Look around on eBay for something by Galco or Bianchi. With the fact that people usually end up going through several holsters before they find what they like/want there's a pretty good market for used stuff at good prices.

Unless you're a lefty, then it's sheer luck.

sounds like milt sparks or galco would be your best bet. but for range use and all, don't discount kydex. fwiw, i love my fobus holster for the p229.
